Hiring: Marketing Specialist

We are looking for a skilled, organized, proactive and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist to help us deliver on our aggressive growth initiatives.  Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing & User Experience, the Marketing Specialist needs to be a driven yet flexible player on the team – working across the organization to get acquisition and marketing activities executed with focus on quality, efficiency and the customer experience. This position requires a strong project management orientation.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive acquisition and client experience projects through a combination of marketing and promotion knowledge, project management skills, business understanding, strong teamwork, and positive energy.
  • Manage the pipeline and productivity of marketing project plans. Develop and communicate timelines, identify critical path items, drive team activities towards deadlines.
  • Execute acquisition marketing campaigns and participate in improving borrower and lender customer experience.
  • Work within marketing, product and technical teams to implement marketing activities including but not limited to: online/offline marketing campaigns, email marketing campaigns, major media – contributing ideas, overseeing creative process, and managing timeline and tasks through completion.
  • Interact with the business, legal, customer service and technical teams to help them understand project goals, partner with them on developing requirements, and provide support for the execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Manage the Marketing Intranet / Project Site, updating calendar, campaigns and other critical information.
  • Build relationships with functional areas and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Demonstrate ownership of projects from project initiation to end result.
  • Conduct analysis of project results; capture and share lessons and insights. 

Experience Desired

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience coordinating the development and implementation of online marketing campaigns (include landing pages, email, affiliate, SEM), website optimization projects and traditional marketing.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as Marketing Manager in a major brand, B-to-C company, or account manager for consumer brands at an agency
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering results in complex environments
  • Ability to dynamically prioritize between conflicting priorities and multiple projects
  • Ability to have both detail and big picture orientation
  • Knowledge of key marketing principles and the creative development and execution process; experience working on a variety of marketing campaigns
  • Exceptional project management skills: experience managing long-term, complex marketing projects – preferably interactive – as well as agility to deploy rapid response campaigns
  • Comfortable working in unstructured, fast-paced, start-up environment (getting “hands dirty” a must); skilled at working “in the trenches” one moment and participating in strategy sessions the next.
  • Must be comfortable working with all levels of management, and have the ability to persuade diverse audiences to support marketing initiatives
  • General Profile: organized, analytical, high level of accountability, results-oriented, creative thinker, quick at learning new concepts and skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project software; working knowledge of email marketing software (Responsys), project tracking and collaboration software (Jira)
  • Financial industry experience a plus, but not required

Hiring: Senior Marketing Manager, Digital

We are looking for a creative, skilled, proactive and results-oriented Senior Marketing Manager, Digital to help us deliver on our aggressive growth initiatives.  Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing & User Experience, the Senior Marketing Manager needs to be a driven yet flexible player on the team – working across the organization to get acquisition and marketing activities executed with focus on delivering a world-class prospect and customer experience on multiple channels (digital and otherwise).

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, execute and optimize acquisition and customer marketing programs through effective digital marketing, user experience (interactive, content) and social media marketing.
  • Recommend, lead and drive plans to build the overall digital experience on Prosper.com, the Prosper blog and social media marketing channels – meeting measurable business targets as a result. Partner with acquisition managers, creative design, product management, and engineering teams.
  • Lead content development and management, product promotions and marketing campaigns. Partner with acquisition managers on the execution and optimization of acquisition and engagement elements such as display ads, landing pages for affiliate and search marketing, email marketing. On occasion, lead or contribute to marketing campaigns for traditional channels (e.g., take-ones, direct mail, etc.).
  • Manage social media marketing channels; develop and execute on editorial calendar, stimulating and monitoring conversations about Prosper on the social web. Partner with legal to ensure compliance.
  • Manage “merchandising” on Prosper.com home page, customer account page, service emails and other high-impact customer touchpoints – keeping messaging timely, relevant and interesting.
  • Accountable for key performance analytics and reporting to deliver continuous site and campaign optimization.
  • Monitor marketplace trends and determine requirements for existing and future activities, programs and products and deliver regular activity reports and recommendations.
  • Collect and synthesize customer research, current market conditions and competitor information to refine customer profiles and needs.

 Desired Experience

  • 7 years’ experience in e-commerce and digital marketing for consumer facing brands/websites; focus on inbound marketing a plus. Ideally, 5+ years’ marketing experience with a major consumer brand and up to 2 years’ experience in social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) including strategy, implementation and measurement.
  • Advanced knowledge of key marketing principles and the creative development and execution process; experience working on a variety of marketing campaigns, content development and social media programs.
  • Proven success in conceiving and creating marketing programs and web experiences for acquisition and engagement; knowledge of content strategy and interaction design. Demonstrated passion for marketing, digital marketing and user experience.
  • Must love content – conceiving, writing, editing, proofreading.
  • Experience partnering with product development and technology teams a must.
  • Solid understanding of current and emerging marketing and social trends that can drive and support web experience and digital marketing efforts
  • Web analytics and optimization experience, e.g., Google Analytics, Optimizer; test-and-target tools
  • Should be highly collaborative and comfortable working with cross-functional teams and various levels of management; must have ability to influence others outside immediate span of control.
  • Comfortable working in unstructured, fast-paced, start-up environment (getting “hands dirty” a must); skilled at working “in the trenches” one moment and participating in strategy sessions the next.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
  • Financial industry experience a plus, but not required
